More Bad Things

It doesn’t feel right to pick a game apart when the Minnesota Vikings actually beat the Packers at Lambeau Field, but there are still some things the team did during this game that didn’t quite sit right with how they need to play going forward.

Other bad things from Week 8

  • Bringing down Aaron Rodgers. The Vikings did a good job getting pressure on Aaron Rodgers all game, but couldn’t seem to bring him down until the final play of the game. That is a massive credit to the Packers quarterback who was able to evade defenders and make big plays despite having someone hot on his heels.
  • Flags flying. The Vikings had seven penalties accepted against them, with calls ranging from holding to pass interference and 12 men on the field. Mike Zimmer will likely have something to say about the undisciplined play of Minnesota even though the final result was a win.
  • The rookie is put in check. Justin Jefferson was quieted this week but the gameplan was to run the ball anyway. Still, the Vikings first-round pick caught three of his four targets for 26 yards, which was good for third on the team this week.
