Defensive MVP

Eric Kendricks – LB

Eric Kendricks is the best defensive player for the Vikings this season. His consistency and fire are bar none on the field as he continuously puts forth great effort to achieve great results no matter what task he is given.

Stopping ball carriers is an absolute highlight of Kendricks’ play. He accumulated an amazing 12 tackles on Sunday, with eight of them being unassisted. A lot of love was given to the linebacker by the TV announcers as well, who recognized his efforts.

Kendricks also helped out the secondary at times, dropping back into coverage against Green Bay and their dangerous passing attack with good results. He made a great play batting the ball out of the hands of Packers receiver Davante Adams, but the linebacker oddly did not register a pass breakup in the stat sheet.

As long as Kendricks is in the lineup for Minnesota, it is hard to think this team has a bad defense. His efforts make everyone around him better and that should remain the same as long as the team continues to stay relevant in the NFL.

Who do you think should be the MVP of the Vikings on offense and defense for Week 8? And who else deserves recognition for their play against the Packers? Let us know your opinion in the comments!
