Desmond King – CB (Tennessee Titans)

Desmond King is a name that should be familiar to some Vikings fans since he was a part of some Minnesota trade rumors a few months ago thanks to his former college teammate and current Vikings defensive tackle, Jaleel Johnson.

King, who was a First-Team All-Pro in 2018, is only 25-years-old and during his time in the NFL, he’s found a role as slot corner. He’s also been an excellent punt returner since he was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017.

Recently, the Chargers sent King to the Titans in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. That seems like a price Minnesota would have been able to afford, especially when they are extremely desperate for cornerbacks right now.

King will become a free agent in 2021, so that’s something that could have prevented a team like the Vikings from being willing to give up any draft picks to acquire him. Still, someone with his experience would have been a big addition to a Minnesota secondary that is in serious need of some veteran leadership at this point in the season.
