Minnesota will be fine no matter who starts at QB for Detroit
The Vikings came into this week expecting to square off against Matthew Stafford but he was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday. Instead, it appears that Minnesota could be saddled with the task of containing Chase Daniel, who defeated the Vikings when he was with Chicago last season.
While there may be PTSD from the last time Minnesota saw Daniel or fear of a last-minute appearance by Stafford (who’s placement on the list is due to a recent exposure), the Vikings should be in good hands against the Detroit offense.
The Lions come into Sunday’s game without Kenny Golladay (hip) and they could be trotting out Marvin Jones and Marvin Hall as their top receivers. While they do have T.J. Hockenson and D’Andre Swift as potential matchup problems, the Lions haven’t used them enough to the point where they could actually take over a game.
This should mean good things for the Vikings as they look to pick up another divisional victory.
