Everson Griffen – DE

Everson Griffen may be the newest member of the Lions, but that doesn’t mean the Vikings should overlook him. This guy is going to be fired up to play his former team and one thing he does is bring a ton of energy to the field.

Griffen is also extra pissed off this week after his former head coach Mike Zimmer said in a recent presser that Griffen was a “good,” player. This infuriated the former Minnesota pass rusher and he took offense to the fact Zimmer said good and not great. While Griffen does have a fair argument here, Zimmer wasn’t looking to toss a jab at his former star.

Whether or not Zimmer meant offense by that statement, it could have a major impact on this game. Griffen will be playing with even more fire than normal and he will be itching to have multiple sacks against his former team.

Griffen still has a ton left in the tank and he is very quick off the ball. He could definitely get the best of Riley Reiff on a handful of series on Sunday and if he can get to Kirk Cousins, it could have a catastrophic impact on the Vikings offense.

The bigger issue is that Griffen won’t just get himself hyped up, but he’ll motivate the entire Lions defense as well. From John Penisini to Jeff Okudah, Griffen’s passion and charisma could light a fire under Detroit’s defense and they could all play extra hard for their new teammate who was slighted by his former coach.
