Cousins ranks higher in PFF grading than Stafford

It is universally agreed upon by Vikings fans and pundits that Kirk Cousins has played poorly in 2020. He’s had two dastardly games — one in Indianapolis, the other against the Falcons. Cousins was not atop his usual game in those contests, and many fans lost patience. Trade rumors swirled. “Cut him” chants reverberated on social media.

Pro Football Focus disagrees. According to the NFL grading outfit, Cousins has played to the level of the ninth-best signal-caller in the business. Per PFF, he has graded better in 2020 than Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson, Drew Brees, and Ben Roethlisberger.

So, either Kirk Cousins playing better than your eyes are leading on or PFF is making things up.

Stafford has struggled as adjudicated by PFF’s grading system. His score is 71.9 or 21st in the league. This ranking system states that Daniel Jones, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Cam Newton have played better than Stafford.

May the best quarterback win this weekend.
