Minnesota has vanquished Detroit five consecutive times

This will give you tremendous confidence or serve as the almighty jinx.

The last time the Vikings lost to the Lions was 2017 — a game that Dalvin Cook tore his ACL. The game felt like a season-ender. It was the opposite. Minnesota instead embarked on an eight-game winning streak. An NFC North crown was won and the team reached the NFC Championship.

From that moment on, the Minnesota Vikings have utterly dominated the Lions. Some games have felt closer than others, most have lacked competition. If you believe in quarterback wins as a statistic, Kirk Cousins has not lost a game to Detroit as a member of the Vikings.

In the four games since 2018 that Cousins has been the signal-caller versus the Lions, the Vikings have scored a total of 113 points to Detroit’s 55. That’s an average game score of 28-14 in favor of Minnesota.

As a standalone game score, that sounds like a run-of-the-mill ending. Spanned across four games, it is a substantial spread.
