Predicting the Vikings 2020 record with half a season left to go
By Adam Patrick
Week 10
Chicago Bears (Away)
- Date: Monday, November 16
- Time: 7:15 p.m. CT
- TV: ESPN
After starting the season with five wins in their first six games, the Bears have now lost three matchups in a row, and they are currently sitting with a 5-4 record. In these three losses, Chicago has turned the ball over five times and their offensive line has allowed a total of 12 sacks.
For some reason, the Vikings typically struggle whenever they have to travel on the road to face the Bears. The final score will likely end up being close, but the recent trajectory of each team points to Minnesota coming out on top in this matchup.
Prediction: Vikings win (record improves to 4-5)
Week 11
Dallas Cowboys (Home)
- Date: Sunday, November 22
- Time: 3:25 p.m. CT
- TV: FOX
Heading into the 2020 season, most chalked this contest up as a loss for the Vikings. But the Cowboys have been a terrible team since losing Dak Prescott in Week 5 as they’ve averaged just under 11 points per game in their last four matchups.
Dallas will have extra time to prepare for Minnesota as they have their bye in Week 10. But that won’t really make a difference for the 2-6 Cowboys and their NFL-worst rushing defense when they take on the Vikings and Dalvin Cook.
Prediction: Vikings win (5-5)
