Defensive MVP
Eric Wilson – LB
Even without Anthony Barr, the Vikings linebackers have been putting on a show each week. Eric Kendricks and Eric Wilson are a force to be reckoned with, patrolling the sidelines, bringing down ball carriers, and even dropping into coverage.
Wilson led the Vikings in tackles on Sunday with 13, eight of those were solo, and one was an assisted takedown of the Lions quarterback. His tackles were all over the field and it helped to keep Detroit’s running game in check.
Wilson also did some great work in coverage, dropping back and helping out against a speedy group of Detroit pass-catchers. He added to his great day by grabbing an interception and returning it for 16 yards.
If the secondary can continue to evolve and grow together this season, they will need the help of these two linebackers to make their jobs easier. And from what this season has shown, it seems this duo can’t be stopped.
