Which players won’t be re-signed by the Minnesota Vikings in 2021?
At the midpoint of the 2020 season, the Minnesota Vikings likely already have a good idea about which players from their current roster will be returning in 2021.
Of course, the possible reduced salary cap next year will also be making some of the Vikings’ roster decisions for them. Currently, OverTheCap.com is estimating the 2021 salary cap to be around $176 million and this would put Minnesota almost $6.5 million over the cap.
With the anticipated reduced salary cap, a number of Vikings players who are scheduled to be free agents in 2021 probably won’t be re-signed. Luckily, for Minnesota, most of the guys from this group of free agents aren’t very impactful to the success of the team.
The Vikings currently have more than 15 players on their current roster who will be either an unrestricted free agent, a restricted free agent, or an exclusive rights free agent in 2021. Who are a few of these guys that we can expect to not return to Minnesota after the end of the current season?
