Jefferson will go for 100 yards and a touchdown

If the Vikings can’t get Cook going, they’ll have to lean on their passing game for the first time since the bye. Although the performance of Kirk Cousins is up in the air (more on this in a second), Minnesota would be wise to get their electric rookie involved to help open everything up.

Justin Jefferson has amazed since he broke into the starting lineup in Week 3, but he hasn’t seen much production since the bye. Jefferson has only recorded six catches for 90 yards in those two games, but he may need to take on a bigger role if the Vikings want to beat the Bears on Monday night.

If there’s a positive for Jefferson, it’s that his matchup projects to be in his favor. Chicago rookie corner Jaylon Johnson will likely see the most of him on the outside. But Minnesota could try to work him into the slot more with Irv Smith Jr. out due to a groin injury.

If Jefferson sees more of Buster Skrine on Monday, he’ll be going up against a corner who has allowed 1.35 yards per coverage snap this season, 19th among qualifiers this season.

The Vikings want to be a run-first team. But if that fails, look for Jefferson to be heavily involved against the Bears.
