More Bad Things

Typically, putting 19 points on the scoreboard won’t be enough to win a football game this season. In a league where points seem to be everywhere, the Minnesota Vikings were lucky their defense was in complete lockdown mode.

Still, the team needed every moment of this game to get a win. Considering everything that happened coming into this contest, it’s disappointing it was as contested as it was. It should have been a blowout.

Other bad things from Week 10

  • A couple of big mistakes. The Vikings got two takeaways against the Bears, but they also gave the ball away twice. One came on a Kyle Rudolph fumble after a catch and run and the other bounced off the arms of Adam Thielen and directly into those of Khalil Mack.
  • Changing the recipe. Minnesota loves to play a style of game where they rely on Dalvin Cook to set the tone and play off that to help the passing game. Chicago held the Vikings running back to only 96 yards on 30 rushing attempts, an average of only 3.2 yards per carry. He had one nice run called back due to a holding penalty, but otherwise, he struggled all night.
