Defensive Unsung Hero in Week 10:

Hercules Mata’afa – DL

The Vikings find production from a different defensive lineman each week. This week, the star of the show was Hercules Mata’afa, who was constantly in the backfield disrupting Nick Foles and the Bears offense.

Mata’afa had a phenomenal showing after bouncing around from the active roster and the practice squad this season. In Chicago, he lived in the backfield and seemed to always be in the play. He finished the night with two tackles (one for a loss) and two QB hits.

Minnesota’s defensive line has shuffled a bunch of bodies in and out this season, so anyone who can find success is doing something right. This is a good building block for Mata’afa as he strives for more playing time and a larger role in the defense.

The Vikings linebackers and secondary have done a great job lately, giving the defensive line less stress to make big plays.
