Which players could the Minnesota Vikings look to add in free agency next year?

Despite some of the bumps in the road the Minnesota Vikings have experienced this season, the team’s roster should give fans plenty of reasons to be excited about the future of the franchise.

Both of Minnesota’s offense and defense feature a number of talented players who are 25-years-old or younger including Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, Irv Smith Jr., Brian O’Neill, D.J. Wonnum, Jeff Gladney, and Cameron Dantzler.

Having that type of young talent on their roster gives the Vikings a lot to build around for the next few seasons. It’s not that crazy to think that Minnesota should be able to be included among the NFL’s top teams within a year or two if they continue to add more useful contributors.

As much as the Vikings like to build the core of their roster from the NFL Draft, they’ve also taken a few chances in free agency during the last few seasons with guys like Kirk Cousins, Linval Joseph, Riley Reiff, Terence Newman, and Latavius Murray.

Some of these signings have worked out for Minnesota and others have not. But the ones that haven’t gone according to plan shouldn’t scare the Vikings away from turning to free agency once again in 2021 to add some more pieces to their roster.

With seven games left on their schedule, we still have a long way to go before Minnesota has to start thinking about which free agents they could sign next year. At the same time, however, there are still some guys hitting free agency in 2021 that the Vikings should already be thinking about.

Of the players currently scheduled to hit the free-agent market next year, who should Minnesota already be considering as a potential fit for their roster in 2021?
