Are the experts right about the Vikings this week?

In some ways, the Vikings beating the Bears on the road was a huge win. Minnesota’s defense was dominant and the offense performed well. However, it apparently wasn’t good enough to impress the NFL experts.

A rise of less than one spot after beating a team with a better record is a bit insulting. But one thing fans need to keep in mind is the performance of the teams above the purple and gold, who mostly all won or played well on Sunday.

Plus, Minnesota still has a losing record. At 4-5, the Vikings are still trying to prove they are a good team despite their three-game winning streak and being 3-1 in the division. More wins are needed to ascend now that they are inching closer to the top half of power rankings.

For now, somewhere between 16 and 17 seems the fairest place to put Minnesota, especially since the defense is starting to find an identity and the offense is finding ways to win games they couldn’t earlier in the year.
