Which Minnesota Vikings players deserve credit for their turnaround?

Things are officially looking up for the Minnesota Vikings. Their win over the Chicago Bears this past Monday night takes them to within one game of a .500 record, which seemed improbable to put it mildly heading into their bye week.

This has been a collective effort and Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer deserves a tremendous amount of credit. The head coach has seen it all during his time with the organization and while others around him were panicking, he provided a young roster with a calming influence who made all the right adjustments during their brief time away from competitive action.

What comes next will be equally as important. Minnesota has some winnable games coming up on the schedule that could make or break their postseason attempts down the stretch. So taking their foot off the gas is not up for discussion regarding a situation that remains precarious.

Considering the Vikings were 1-5 just a few short weeks ago, their complete shift in momentum has been extraordinary. Let’s look at five Minnesota players who have been key to the turnaround.

Garrett Bradbury is fast becoming one of the NFL’s best young centers. He has grown in stature this season and even during the Vikings’ dismal run of form before their bye week, the former first-round pick was still playing at a high level.

This is extremely encouraging both for the player and the organization. There have been serious questions surrounding Minnesota’s interior protection throughout the 2020 campaign, but having someone like Bradbury as the anchor should stand them in extremely good stead for years to come.
