Amari Cooper – WR

The Cowboys are a damaged and injury-ravaged team right now but they have plenty of talent at the wide receiver position. They have three horses at this position and they are lead by Amari Cooper. Cooper had a great game against the Vikings last season and will surely be looking to duplicate the 11 reception, 147 yards, 1 touchdown performance he slapped on the Purple.

That’ll be hard to do with Andy Dalton or Garrett Gilbert throwing him the ball but it isn’t impossible. Cooper has good size and is a precise route runner who will be able to expose the Vikings’ young corners. Jeff Gladney has emerged as the Vikings’ top cover man and it will most likely be him assigned to the Cowboys’ star receiver. Cooper will have the advantage from a size and experience standpoint, but Gladney has been figuring out Zimmer’s coverage schemes lately and has great ball skills.

To help the young corner out the Vikings’ pass rush will need to be as good as it was against the Bears. If they can put pressure on Dalton and force him to get the ball out sooner than he wants to that would be huge. If he gets time and Cooper is allowed to run his full routes, this game could end up looking a lot like the Falcons’ one.
