5 Cowboys players the Vikings should be most concerned about
By Nik Edlund
CeeDee Lamb – WR
The Cowboys have arguably the best trio of wide receivers in the NFL. Michael Gallup wasn’t included on this list and that isn’t meant to slight him but aside from Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb has proven to be a problem for defenses in his brief NFL career so far.
Lamb is sneaky fast and a very fluid mover. This guy has a knack for finding the open zones in coverages and just kind subtly settles in those areas. He’s had a very good rookie season so far with 44 receptions for 595 yards and three touchdowns. This guy is a dangerous weapon in the passing game and one the Vikings need to be ready for and aware of.
If Gladney is tasked with covering Amari Cooper then the CeeDee Lamb assignment could end up with Cameron Dantzler, Kris Boyd, or Chris Jones, depending on who is healthy. While those three are playing well recently, Lamb is much better than the average third receiver. They will need to be on their game and stick with Lamb stride for stride and do their best to not let him create separation.
Just like with Amari Cooper, the Minnesota Vikings’ pass rush can help level or even change the playing field here, but Lamb has the potential to be a major problem for the Vikings‘ defense on Sunday.
