The Worst

It’s hard to win football games when you are your own worst enemy. There were several occasions where the Minnesota Vikings made a great play but weren’t able to take advantage of it due to a flag being thrown by the officials.

Some were legit calls while others were questionable penalties. In particular, the consistency on what a hit to a defenseless receiver might be has to be addressed because officials should know it when they see it.

Penalties negated a converted fake punt attempt, a nice Dalvin Cook run, and more during this game. Teams can’t let officiating take them out of the game and Minnesota went backward too many times to keep anything going to gain positive momentum.

Flags were flying left and right all day long and Minnesota had eight penalties accepted against them for a total of 80 yards. This will definitely be something Mike Zimmer talks about with his team leading up to next week’s game.
