Jarius Wright – WR (Free Agent)
Minnesota is obviously set at the top of their wide receiver depth chart with Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson. But after those two is where things begin to get a bit dicey for the Vikings and their current group of receivers.
Of the catches made by Minnesota wide receivers this season, Thielen and Jefferson have accounted for 86 percent of them. The Vikings’ third-leading wide receiver this year is Chad Beebe and he’s accumulated a measly total of seven catches.
Jarius Wright last appeared in a Minnesota uniform back in 2017 and he would be someone who could provide the team with a much better third option at receiver than what they currently have with Beebe.
Wright only caught a total of 29 passes in his last two seasons with the Vikings, but more than 60 percent of those catches resulted in a first down for Minnesota’s offense.
Nine of Beebe’s 12 targets this year have come on third down and he’s only managed to turn three of those passes into catches that resulted in a first down for the Vikings.
Minnesota could use a better third option outside of Thielen and Jefferson who can help the offense move the chains and Wright, who is currently a free agent, is someone who has proven in the past that he can accomplish this.
