Luck

For the most part, the games around the NFL each week feature matchups between two pretty evenly-talented teams. These games typically come down to the last few possessions and the unpredictability of these matchups is usually pretty high.

The Vikings have already been involved in a number of close games this season. Three of Minnesota’s matchups this year have been decided by three points or less. Unfortunately for the Vikings, all three of these games resulted in another loss being added to their record.

So luck hasn’t exactly been on the side of Minnesota this season and that will need to change if they are going to earn a spot in the playoffs.

We’re talking luck like the exact opposite of what happened to the Vikings in the final game of the 2003 campaign when they were left on the outside of the playoffs after they lost on the final play to a 4-12 Cardinals team. In order to get into the postseason this year, Minnesota might actually need something like this to happen to Arizona.

The Vikings have already produced one miracle in the recent past. Hopefully, Minnesota won’t need another miraculous play to get into the postseason this year, but luck will still need to be in their favor during the next six weeks if their season is going to end with a spot in the playoffs.
