The Panthers have never played in U.S. Bank Stadium

Two NFC teams have not visited U.S. Bank Stadium since its erection — the Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers. The NFL seems to have a rule that mandates a Vikings annual trip to Seattle, so that one is unsurprising. As for Carolina, the last two matchups with the Vikings have occurred at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The teams split those two contests.

In fact, Cam Newton and the Panthers ended the Vikings unforeseen 2017 winning streak. Minnesota won eight consecutive games that season after a series of oddities beset the franchise. Rookie halfback Dalvin Cook was lost for the season. So was starting quarterback Sam Bradford. The Vikings mailed it in, right? Wrong. Head coach Mike Zimmer’s team finished the season 13-3 while Minnesota made a run to the NFC Championship.

All-time, the Vikings own the head-to-head series against the Panthers with eight wins to six losses. The most memorable moment of the matchup history is probably the devastating injury incurred by Daunte Culpepper in 2005.
