Defensive MVP

Eric Kendricks – LB

It’s not surprising to see Eric Kendricks as the team’s Defensive MVP this week. Heck, he’s been here throughout most of the season because he has been the best player on the team’s defense, in general, this season.

Kendricks once again did it all this week, He posted a team-high 12 tackles with six of those being assists and two resulting in a loss of yardage for the Panthers. His leadership and fire as a defender is an inspiration to the entire team and his sure tackling is a perfect way to show that on the field.

But it wasn’t just tackling that Kendricks did on Sunday. The linebacker had a nose for the football once again and he hauled in a great interception when he picked off Carolina quarterback Teddy Bridgewater in the red zone to save the Vikings some points.

It’s amazing that Kendricks can be so good so consistently. For a player that many teams passed on during the 2015 NFL Draft due to concerns about his size as a middle linebacker, he is proving that it truly isn’t the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

Who do you think deserves to be the MVP of the Vikings offense or defense this week? And which other players deserve recognition for their play against the Panthers? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
