5 Vikings players who are the cornerstones to future success
By Dean Jones
Justin Jefferson – WR
Justin Jefferson‘s rapid emergence into one of the NFL’s brightest young wide receivers has been nothing short of extraordinary. The first-round pick hit the ground running almost from the off thanks to his ability to stretch the field and elite route-running that is not normally associated with someone so young.
The Minnesota Vikings have had plenty of misses with their early-round NFL Draft selections over the years. But they’ve struck gold with Jefferson.
His ability to come through in big moments has been there for all to see. This is matched by explosiveness, confidence to collect the ball under pressure, and a determined attitude that has ensured a smooth transition into the locker room.
Jefferson looks well on course to reach the 1,000-yard receiving milestone during his first year in a professional environment. This was arguably the strongest wideout draft class in recent memory and he looks like the best of the bunch.
Adam Thielen is still playing at a high level, but he won’t be around forever. Jefferson will be the team’s No. 1 passing option in no time at all and if his early performances are any indication, it might even see the player become a Vikings’ great down the line.
