5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Jacksonville Jaguars – Week 13
By Chris Schad
Cousins will have a huge day against the Jaguars secondary
A key part of the Vikings’ renaissance has been handing the ball to Dalvin Cook. As Cook has run wild over the past five games, Kirk Cousins originally took a back seat. However, the narrative doesn’t fit the actual story as Cousins was on fire during the month of November.
Cousins lit up opposing defenses with a 12-to-1 TD:INT ratio and a 124.3 quarterback rating since Week 8. Even though he started the season out slow, Cousins has turned it on, throwing for over 300 yards in each of the past two games and collecting half of those 12 touchdown passes.
On Sunday, Cousins has a great chance for his hot streak to continue. Minnesota will have Adam Thielen back from the Reserve/COVID-19 list just in time to take advantage of the best matchup in the league in Week 13 according to Pro Football Focus. Justin Jefferson ranks fourth on that list and even Kyle Rudolph could have a big game against a defense that has given up an NFL-high, nine touchdowns to tight ends.
While a lack of volume could hold the Vikings passing attack back, it seems that’s the only thing that will be standing in the way of a big game from Cousins.
