5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Jacksonville Jaguars – Week 13
By Chris Schad
Jefferson will eclipse 1,000 receiving yards on the season
Another reason why Kirk Cousins should be pegged for a big game is the play of Justin Jefferson. We talked about Jefferson’s elite matchup on the previous slide, but even if he didn’t have that, he’s already become one of the top receivers in the NFL.
This is impressive to do as a rookie, but more impressive when your name is routinely mentioned alongside Randy Moss. While Jefferson has more yards and receptions than Moss did 11 games into his career, Jefferson could reach another important milestone on Sunday.
If Jefferson collects 82 receiving yards this weekend, he will become just the fifth rookie to reach 1,000 yards during his first 12 games in the NFL. In addition, if Jefferson accomplishes that feat, he’ll become the second rookie receiver in Vikings history to post a 1,000-yard season along with (you guessed it!) Moss.
Jefferson’s impact on the Vikings offense has been massive and it should parlay into the record books on Sunday afternoon.
