4 Jaguars players the Vikings should be most concerned about in Week 13
By Nik Edlund
DJ Chark – WR
It’s unclear at the time of this writing if DJ Chark will actually suit up against the Vikings this Sunday, but the Purple will surely hope his rib injury keeps him out one more week. Chark is a dynamic receiver who is clearly the number one option in the passing game for the Jaguars.
Chark has great size at 6-foot-4 and is just a hair under 200 pounds. He also has great speed and some sticky mitts. He routinely makes the tough grabs and has a knack for going up and coming down with the football whether he’s blanketed or not. Chark has battled injuries all season long but has played in nine games this season. In those nine games, he’s caught 41 passes for 534 yards and 4 touchdowns. Chark is easily the most explosive weapon on the Jaguars and one of the better young receivers in the league.
At his size, Chark is a nightmare mismatch against the Vikings’ corners. Cameron Dantzler is the closest Viking to matching up with him from a physical standpoint, though at his 6-foot-2 frame he’s also giving up a couple of inches to the beastly Chark. Mike Glennon could just chuck a bunch of jump balls Chark’s way and realize he’ll win those 90 percent of the time. Hopefully, Chark isn’t able to suit up against the Minnesota Vikings, but if he does, they’ll need to roll a safety his way every time the Jaguars drop back to pass.
