James Robinson – RB
James Robinson has to be, without a shadow of a doubt, the one Jaguar player the Minnesota Vikings should and will be the most concerned about heading into this Sunday’s game. While Robinson is an undrafted rookie, he’s playing like a seasoned veteran and a damn good one at that.
Robinson has been a beast this season with 890 yards on the ground with six touchdowns. He isn’t just a bruiser and has shown that he is a true three-down back who is an asset in the passing game. Robinson has soft mitts and has hauled in 36 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns. This guy is extremely dangerous and is a bad matchup for a team that has struggled to stifle the run in recent contests.
The Vikings gave up over 100 yards to Ezekiel Elliott in their loss to the Cowboys and were giving up huge chunks of yardage on the ground to the Panthers trio of backs, none of which who would be seeing the field if the Panthers had a healthy backfield. The Vikings need to realize the threat Robinson is and do everything they can to shut him down.
The Vikings’ should really just make stopping Robinson their number one defensive game plan. They need to sell out to stop the run and make Mike Glennon beat them through the air. If Robinson gets a chance to get rolling, it could be a long day for the Vikings’ defense, and the team could again find themselves on the wrong side of the score against an inferior opponent.
