Are the experts right about the Vikings this week?

Unless the Vikings can do something about their kicking, offensive line, and struggling pass rush, there is not a whole lot of reasoning behind having any optimism about this team making an appearance in the postseason.

Although it’s not impossible, for the purple and gold to win out the rest of the way and get some help seems unlikely. For this reason, Minnesota should almost automatically be ensured to be placed outside the top 14, which will likely consist of all the playoff teams.

The experts giving an average placement of around 17 in their power rankings seems a tad generous considering the Vikings’ struggles against the Jaguars and their collapse against the Bucs.

A more realistic spot for Minnesota is probably closer to 19. They still haven’t proven they can stand with the top teams in the NFL and go punch-for-punch on a regular basis. Until they can do that, the Vikings will not be taken seriously as contenders.
