Week 17

Detroit Lions (Away)

With an outside chance to still get in the playoffs, the Vikings are going to make sure they end the 2020 season with a win over the Lions.

There will be a lot of familiar faces on the Detroit sideline during this matchup. Lions interim head coach Darrell Bevell was Minnesota’s offensive coordinator from 2006 to 2010, Detroit running back Adrian Peterson obviously had an accomplished career in the Twin Cities, and Lions defensive end Everson Griffen is one of the Vikings’ top pass-rushers of all-time.

Even with all of the former Minnesota players, it will still be pretty difficult for Detroit to get the victory in this final matchup of the regular season.

The Vikings will come out with a victory over the Lions in this game and Minnesota will avoid finishing the season with a losing record for the sixth year in a row with Mike Zimmer as their head coach.

Will an 8-8 record be enough to get Minnesota into the playoffs this season. It could be, but that is just something we will all have to wait and find out.

Prediction: Vikings win (8-8)
