10 biggest Minnesota Vikings moments from the year 2020

Vikings leadership gets rewarded
Luckily for Rick Spielman, Minnesota decided to give him a multi-year extension before he made the trade with the Jaguars to acquire Yannick Ngakoue.
In addition to Spielman’s new deal, the Vikings also extended the contract of head coach Mike Zimmer before the start of the 2020 season. During their first six years together, Zimmer and Spielman helped lead Minnesota to three appearances in the playoffs, including one trip to the NFC Championship in 2017.
While some fans would like to see the Vikings move on from their current head coach and general manager duo, the team’s ownership is obviously confident that these two can lead the franchise to even more seasons of success.
Moment No. 10
Vikings upset the Saints in the playoffs
What a way to kick off the year and some could argue that Minnesota’s upset win over the New Orleans Saints in the first round of last season’s playoffs was the best moment of 2020 for the purple and gold.
It was an entertaining, back-and-forth contest that needed overtime to decide the winner. The Vikings ended up pulling away thanks to a game-winning touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins to Kyle Rudolph in the corner of the end zone.
Rudolph’s catch did come with some controversy as some Saints fans felt the tight end pushed off and should’ve been called for offensive pass interference. But the game officials clearly didn’t agree and Minnesota left New Orleans with an impressive playoff victory over the Saints.
