Minnesota Vikings Best and Worst: Week 17 at Detroit Lions
By Adam Carlson
The Best
If you’re not a hardcore fan of the Minnesota Vikings, there is a good chance you might have turned the television off and enjoyed your Sunday by doing some work around the house or spending some time with the family.
However, the biggest story coming into the game was Justin Jefferson and his pursuit of the Vikings franchise receiving yardage record. He entered Sunday’s game with 1,267 yards, trailing Randy Moss‘ record of 1,313 by only 46 yards.
Not only did Jefferson best Moss in Minnesota’s season finale, but he continued to end the day with nine catches for 133 yards, giving him 1,400 receiving yards on the season and pushing him into an entirely different category.
Jefferson’s yardage moved him past Anquan Boldin‘s yardage total of 1,377 to make him the NFL’s all-time rookie receiving yardage leader since the start of the Super Bowl era. The was the icing on the cake for the impressive young pass catcher.
