By Adam Carlson
There was a lot to learn about the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions.
The 2020 season is finally over for the Minnesota Vikings. After being eliminated from postseason contention after suffering their third loss in a row last week, the purple and gold finally got their first win in four games when they were able to defeat the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Despite there being no playoff implications for the Vikings or the Lions, the game still had to be played. For fans, it was not a pretty one. But, at times, it offered some great moments combined with really strange occurrences and some downright awful stuff to make the viewers at home shake their heads in confusion.
Minnesota is undefeated in the calendar year of 2021 for now. But the taste of a 7-9 season is enough to leave a sour taste in the mouth of a fan base that had high expectations for a team that won a playoff game just one year ago.
Now that Week 17 and the season is over for the Vikings though, it’s time to take a few steps back and look at some takeaways from Sunday’s game as well as the 2020 campaign as a whole.
