Todd Davis – LB

Although Eric Wilson should be the priority for the Vikings to re-sign at linebacker this year, Todd Davis should be very close behind him on the list of priorities. Davis was impressive on special teams as well as filling in on defense when the team’s linebackers started going down with injuries.

Considering how bad the special teams was in 2020, Minnesota needs to bring back some of the positive parts from that unit for next season. Plus, adding some depth to the unit for what should be a discount price would be an excellent value.

Davis was a tackling machine when filling in for Eric Kendricks, picking up 11 tackles in Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars on his way to 35 combined tackles on the season to go with two pass breakups and a sack.

A two or three-year deal to continue evaluating Davis would be the best to keep him in Minnesota at a low cost while providing him some security for his job. Even if the Vikings do bring Wilson back, keeping Davis as well and having four solid linebackers under contract would also be amazing.
