Chad Beebe – WR

The good news here is that Chad Beebe is a restricted free agent. That designation means the Vikings will have the option to match any contract another team offers him this offseason. Thankfully, the price tag shouldn’t be too extremely high for his services.

So far, Beebe’s career has seen highs and lows with the purple and gold. His work as a punt returner has left much to be desired, but he has come up clutch as a receiver at times, and he can serve as an emergency holder when needed.

As the team’s current roster sits, there isn’t much depth behind Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson at wide receiver.

Bisi Johnson, K.J. Osborn, and Dan Chisena all struggled to step up in 2020, yet Minnesota could feel okay bringing these players back for special teams and relying on their tight ends to play bigger roles in the passing game.

Plus, Beebe will likely be close to a league-minimum signing for the Vikings if he returns this year. After setting career highs in receptions (20), receiving yards (201), and touchdowns (two) in 2020, he has shown the most potential of Minnesota’s backup receivers.

But this is not a glowing endorsement. Still, it would be hard for the Vikings to pass him up based on his play last year.
