4 realistic candidates to be the next Vikings offensive coordinator
By Adam Carlson
Hue Jackson
Before getting too frustrated that Hue Jackson is a realistic option for Minnesota, let’s get one thing straight: he was a really bad head coach. A record of 11-44-1 with the Raiders and Browns looks terrible as a resume, but there are some reasons he would be a great fit for the Vikings.
Jackson loves to employ a power running scheme, which would mirror the identity that head coach Mike Zimmer would love to see for his offense. Being able to work with Dalvin Cook would be a great tool for Jackson, especially if the team can improve their run blocking this offseason.
He has bounced around the league, but he is a hot commodity at the moment. He appears to be one of the favorites to land the offensive coordinator position for the Steelers this offseason, but he could see a better situation in Minnesota.
Having more than paid his dues as a coach in the NFL, some team will give Hue Jackson another shot. With how good of a fit a job with the Minnesota Vikings would be, this is much more of a realistic option than some fans might like it to be.
