Kevin King – CB

  • Age: 25
  • 2020 Team: Green Bay Packers

For anyone who watched the NFC Championship between the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past weekend, it’s not hard to understand why Kevin King is not a player the Vikings should be interested in signing this year.

King gave up multiple touchdowns in coverage on Sunday and his pass interference penalty late in the fourth quarter is what sealed the loss for the Packers.

Of course, a player shouldn’t be judged on his performance in just one game. But mistakes like the ones he made against the Bucs are not new for King. As much as some might think Mike Zimmer could help turn King’s career around, Minnesota should still avoid adding him to their 2021 roster.

Vic Beasley – DE/LB

  • Age: 28
  • 2020 Teams: Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders

Two years into his NFL career, it felt like Vic Beasley was going to blossom into one of the top pass rushers in the league. But since earning a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2016 with the Atlanta Falcons, Beasley hasn’t been able to maintain the same level of performance.

2020 was a big disaster for the veteran pass rusher as a handful of issues resulted in the Titans releasing him midway through the regular season. Beasley was eventually signed by the Raiders, but it didn’t result in him doing anything significant on the field.

It’s possible that a team wouldn’t have to spend much to sign Beasley this offseason. But a cheap price tag shouldn’t be enough for the Vikings to consider taking a chance on someone who could potentially cause them problems in 2021.
