Help is needed on the interior of the Minnesota Vikings offensive line and here are some free-agents who could be signed.

The Minnesota Vikings enter the 2021 offseason with quite a few needs to fill. While most of those are on the defensive side of the ball, one of the most glaring issues for the purple and gold the last couple of seasons has been the play of their offensive line.

For the most part, the big boys in the trenches do a decent job creating holes in the run game for Dalvin Cook and the running backs. However, it is the struggles of the interior lineman in pass protection where the breakdown happens and improvement is needed.

To add to Minnesota’s problems, the salary cap is an issue with the Vikings entering the offseason over the projected cap. That means some of the higher-profile big men are a bit of a pipe dream for the team to land in free agency.

Guys like Brandon Scherff and Joe Thuney may be on the wishlist of many fans this offseason, but they will command a hefty price tag and will likely be pushed well out of the price range of Minnesota, making them somewhat unrealistic targets.

Let’s take a look at six interior linemen (guards and centers) who would make sense for the Minnesota Vikings to pursue in free agency and could be helping to block for Kirk Cousins during the 2021 NFL season.
