6 free-agent interior linemen the Vikings could sign in 2021
By Adam Carlson
Nick Easton
It’s hard to blame Nick Easton for jumping ship from the Minnesota Vikings to the New Orleans Saints considering the massive contract they gave him. The purple and gold couldn’t compete with that rich of a deal, and the team has struggled to fill the interior of their offensive line with capable players since his exit.
There are some reasons to hesitate about Easton. A concussion held him out for much of the 2020 season and if there are any lingering effects from it, it would be best for the lineman to be safe about what could be a serious situation.
However, if he is cleared and able to go, Easton could be an inexpensive addition to the team that could compete for a starting job and would likely be the favorite to take over one of the starting guard spots.
It will be interesting to see how much attention the versatile offensive lineman gets in free agency. If he slips through the cracks a bit, he could be a fantastic addition to the roster for depth and competition. If not, there are still some other options to fill the gaps.
