Matt Feiler

There might not be a more interesting prospect in terms of offensive linemen on the market than Matt Feiler this offseason. The versatile blocker graded out well at both left guard and right tackle during the 2020 NFL season with the Steelers and could be seen as either, increasing his value tremendously.

However, the Vikings wouldn’t want Feiler as a bookend. Filling him in at left guard would be perfect for Minnesota, especially if they plan on keeping Riley Reiff for another season while Ezra Cleveland gains more experience at right guard. That would mean paying fringe right tackle money for an interior lineman.

Minnesota should jump on this if they can though. Considering the lack of luck the team has endured with injuries and poor performance getting interior linemen in the draft and free agency, getting an established player with a good resume would be an immediate help.

Pittsburgh placed a second-round tender on Feiler last year, so they know they have something good with their six-foot-six, 330-pound blocker. If the Vikings can find a way to maneuver their salary cap to bring him in, it would take a major need off Minnesota’s table for the rest of free agency and the draft.
