6 free agents who could make the Vikings a super team in 2021
By Adam Carlson
Brandon Scherff, guard
The Minnesota Vikings have a few holes that need to be filled before they should consider themselves ready for the 2021 NFL season. One of the biggest issues has to be the right guard position, which the team had to plug with rookie swing tackle Ezra Cleveland in 2020.
Brandon Scherff would be a dream for the Vikings to have available. After struggling to fill those holes for several years through free agency or the draft, having someone of his caliber come in to protect Kirk Cousins and pave the way for Dalvin Cook would be huge.
The Vikings’ offense is already extremely explosive. Adding a great piece like Scherff to ensure everything goes smoothly would go a long way toward ensuring Minnesota returns as one of the top offenses in the league in 2021.
Scherff is a four-time Pro Bowl blocker with one First-Team All-Pro nod in 2020. To put that in perspective, the purple and gold have only had 6 linemen ever be named First-Team All-Pro in the history of their franchise.
