Matt Judon, linebacker

With Eric Wilson likely exiting the team in free agency, Minnesota will have an opening for a starting linebacker and Matt Judon would be an absolutely perfect fit for a Mike Zimmer defense in 2021.

Judon isn’t an elite pass-rushing linebacker, but he doesn’t need to be. Using his rushing situationally along with blitzes from Anthony Barr or Eric Kendricks will keep opposing offenses guessing and allow the Vikings to be more creative with their defensive playcalling.

As Baltimore Beatdown explains, Judon makes the most of his pass rush opportunities by generating pressure on a high percentage of his attempts. However, he is also strong in coverage as well as tackling.

A linebacker trio like this would help to hide any deficiency in either the line or the secondary. Considering how much this defense struggled last season and relied on the offense to score a lot of points, any huge improvement to the defense would be amazing.
