Patrick Peterson, cornerback

After 10 seasons in the NFL, Patrick Peterson hasn’t really been slowing down too much. The big, dynamic defender feels much older than he really is, but he will only be 31 years old when the 2021 NFL season rolls around.

Minnesota has a young secondary with some talented players, but adding an experienced individual to help the corners could be a huge advantage for the future while giving a veteran presence for the season.

Peterson hasn’t returned a punt since the 2018 season, but he could perform that duty if he wanted to. Minnesota struggled with muffed fumbles and finding a consistent punt returner last season, so enlisting someone with 195 career punt returns wouldn’t be the worst thing.

This dream scenario has Minnesota recruiting a defensive player on each level and Peterson’s career numbers of 499 combined tackles, 91 pass defenses, 28 interceptions, and 12 fumble recoveries would automatically make him a huge asset to the Vikings.
