Jamal Agnew

The Vikings have gotten plenty of first-hand looks at Jamal Agnew and his explosive ability as a return man as he’s spent the last four seasons with the Detroit Lions.

He’s a dangerous returner who can handle both kick and punt duties. For his career, Agnew has averaged 11.6 yards per punt return with four touchdowns. He’s averaged 25.8 yards per kick return and he took one back to the house in 2019.

Agnew has great vision and speed. Once he finds a seam, he can turn on the jets and he is gone in the flashiest of flashes. He tends to weave his way through the ruckus of a return and he can stick his foot in the ground to change directions quickly. For a little guy, he is tough to bring down, and he can easily break arm tackles to fight for extra yardage.

Agnew wouldn’t add much to Minnesota as a receiver since he has just 16 receptions for only 105 yards in his four-year pro career. He does have some experience playing cornerback, so maybe he could provide emergency depth at that position as well.

Agnew would probably be one of the more costly players on this list. But seeing how bad the Vikings’ return game and special teams as a whole were last year, he’d be worth every penny.
