Jacob Hollister
Another upcoming free-agent who might relish the opportunity of more in the way of targets is Jacob Hollister. The former sixth-round pick has done well when called upon during his time with the Seattle Seahawks. But the presence of D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and David Moore in the passing game left him with just 40 targets during the 2020 season, 25 of which he brought in for 209 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Hollister has the experience of being around a winning environment as he has a Super Bowl ring to show from his contribution to the New England Patriots in a rotational role before moving to Seattle.
Should the Vikings eventually decide to go their separate ways with Kyle Rudolph this offseason, then offering Hollister a short-term deal with the promise of an increased role is something he is sure to be tempted by.
With Greg Olsen hanging up his cleats after a prolific career, the Seahawks might try to re-sign Hollister to keep some continuity at the position. There does also appear to be some increasing friction between the organization and star quarterback Russell Wilson, so they’ll need to keep their primary pass-catchers on the roster in a bid to get closer to a Super Bowl next time around.
This will be Hollister’s fifth-year in the NFL, so if a big chance doesn’t arrive in free agency this year, it might not come at all.
