Mo Alie-Cox

This would be the boldest move considering how much the Indianapolis Colts think of Mo-Alie Cox. The athletic tight end came of age in 2020 to record the best stats of his career by a considerable margin and there does appear to be plenty of room for the player to develop further.

Cox has everything one looks for in a productive tight end at the next level. He is physically gifted, has great hands, and is coming off a campaign where he brought in 31 of 39 targets for 394 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

It was an encouraging season from Cox’s perspective, who will be sharing reps and targets with fellow tight end Jack Doyle if he decides to stay around.

The Colts recently made a bold move to trade for Cason Wentz from the Philadelphia Eagles, so they’ll want every offensive weapon available and on the roster to ensure the beleaguered quarterback can hit the ground running in a different environment. They also have an abundance of salary-cap space to re-sign Cox should they wish.

One could argue that Cox is in a similar mold to Irv Smith Jr., so the Vikings might want to get something that compliments the former Alabama star and can block a little bit better in run support.

Only time will tell as to whether the Vikings will cut ties with Kyle Rudolph. However, decision time is fast approaching, and Minnesota won’t want to get left behind when the free-agent frenzy begins.
