Yes, it seems impossible that the Vikings would trade away Minnesota’s “Golden Boy”. But like we mentioned earlier when discussing Dalvin Cook, just about everyone would be on the table to possibly be traded if the team gets off to a poor start next season.

At the age of 30, Adam Thielen is coming off a performance in 2020 that saw him catch 74 passes for 925 yards and 14 touchdowns. Thielen might be nearing the end of his career, but the numbers he put up last year seem to indicate that he still has a few seasons of good production left in him.

Prior to last year’s trade deadline, there were some teams from around the league that were reportedly interested in making a deal for the veteran receiver. Obviously, Thielen didn’t get traded, but the interest could be even higher next season if the Vikings struggle during their first few games of the 2021 campaign.

Minnesota’s decision to deal Stefon Diggs last year proved that their front office is willing to listen to a trade offer for just about anyone on their roster. They also proved that they would accept a deal if an offer is too good to pass up.

As painful as it would be to think about Thielen in another uniform, if the Vikings are struggling again in 2021 and they can get a good return for a receiver who is close to the end of his career, then trading Thielen might end up becoming a reality.
