Dalvin Tomlinson

If the Minnesota Vikings want to be a bit bolder in their pursuit of improving their defensive tackle options, then Dalvin Tomlinson would enter their thoughts in no uncertain terms. His production on an improving New York Giants defense in 2020 was highly encouraging and there could be a bumper payday coming his way this spring.

Tomlinson has been a productive starter at MetLife Stadium from the moment he entered the league in 2017 out of Alabama. His experience in a top collegiate program has served him well at the next level so far and there is a lot to like about the lineman’s potential to progress further in the coming years.

Getting someone with the upside of Tomlinson isn’t going to be cheap. There is also a strong possibility of the Giants using the franchise tag on him if a new deal cannot be agreed to prevent the player from hitting the free-agent market. So of all the options, this is the one that is perhaps most out of reach.

That’s not to say it’s impossible. However, considering the financial constraints the Vikings are working under they”ll probably decide on a cheaper option who could come in and make an impression from the word go.
