Cincinnati Bengals

Perhaps Kyle Rudolph doesn’t care about going to a contender. If he doesn’t, he may look to sign with a team that plays in a warm climate like Los Angeles or Miami, or he could decide to go home and play for the Bengals.

Rudolph grew up in Cincinnati and he played high school football for the Elder High Panthers. Maybe it is his lifelong dream to finish his NFL career where it all began and come full circle by finishing out his great time in the league with the Bengals.

This is definitely a possibility and one has to think the interest from Cincinnati would be strong since they don’t have much at the tight end position right now.

Their depth chart is topped by Drew Sample who has just 45 receptions in two seasons and C.J. Uzomah, who only had eight catches in 2020.

Rudolph would come in and be the starter and he would be a great veteran leader for the Bengals’ young offense. He could teach Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins what it takes to be a great leader on and off the field and he could also boost the maturation process of Sample.

This move would also be a huge boost to the development of Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow. At this time, it is unclear how quickly Burrow will be back from the serious knee injury he suffered last season.

If the Bengals sign Rudolph for at least two seasons, he should get a chance to be Burrow’s safety net and pass on some of his wisdom to the heir of C-Town.

The former Vikings tight end returning home to play for the Bengals is a strong possibility, even though it would almost guarantee he finishes his NFL career without a Super Bowl ring.
