New England Patriots

With Tom Brady playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, some of the luster has worn off for free agents to sign with New England. The allure of playing for the greatest coach of all-time in Bill Belichick is still strong though.

But the Patriots finished 7-9 in 2020 and they were far behind Buffalo for the lead of the AFC East division. Their quarterback situation is still in flux and not many will be picking them to take a big jump next season.

That being said, New England loves utilizing tight ends in the passing game and Kyle Rudolph would be a great fit. The Patriots’ offense is built around using big, athletic, oversized tight ends who can create mismatches against linebackers and Rudolph fits that mold to a “T”.

If he ended up in New England, his numbers could see a huge resurgence, and he could potentially have one of the better years in his career from a statistical standpoint.

Belichick is going to be extra motivated in 2021. He will not only want to regain his place on top of the AFC East, but he’ll want to also prove that he doesn’t need Brady to win a Super Bowl.

What he will need is playmakers on both sides of the ball and Rudolph could be a cheap option to be one on offense.
